Before you can start using Benson to operate your property you will need to input some basic information in the settings section. This can be found under the settings icon – the ‘cog’. Please note that only users with administrator rights can access this section
We recommend that you work the list in sequential order as some parts depend on data from other sections. All sections must be complete before you start onboarding your data into Benson.
1. Property
This section contains the basic information about your property. Some as basic as its name and others as more detailed information like the wording that appears on the pdf documents that you can send to clients. See property settings.
2. Users
This is where you create and manage the users in your property. See user settings.
3. Taxes
This is where you manage the different taxes. See tax settings.
4. Integrations
This is where you manage integrations with channel managers, point of sale systems and the web booking engine. If you are starting your account with Benson please return to this section later as it requires detailed support assistance. See integrations.
5. Client Types
This is where you manage the different types of client in Benson. See client types.
6. Note Types
This is where you manage the different types of notes that get added to clients and reservations in Benson. See note types.
7. Charge & Payment Types
This is where you manage the different types of charges (restaurant, transport, laundry etc) and types of payments (cash, credit card etc). See charge & payment types.
8. Rate Types
This is where you manage the different rate types that for your accommodation charges. See rate types.
9. Room & Asset Settings
This is where you manage room types, individual rooms, room configurations (double, twin etc) and moveable assets (extra beds, cots, nespresso machines etc). See room & asset settings.
